CFA Consumer Centre
Help us build a respectful, trustworthy and useful community where consumers and businesses can share experiences, respond constructively and resolve concerns safely.
Why these guidelines matter
Consumer Fraud Awareness (“CFA”) brings together consumers, businesses and other participants to exchange information about products, services, complaints, fraud risks and resolutions. These Community Guidelines apply to public posts, reviews, complaints, comments, replies, messages, uploads, profile information and other interactions across CFA.
Important: These Guidelines operate alongside our Terms of Use, Content Policy, Review Guidelines, Privacy Policy and applicable law. Where a more specific policy applies, that policy will also govern the relevant content or activity.
Respect people
Challenge conduct or information without humiliating, intimidating or targeting individuals.
Share responsibly
Post information you genuinely believe is accurate and relevant.
Protect privacy
Do not expose personal, confidential or security-sensitive information.
Support trust
Do not manipulate reviews, complaints, ratings or community discussions.
Community values
Every participant is expected to follow these principles regardless of whether they are a consumer, business representative, employee, partner or visitor.
Respect
Communicate without abuse, threats, humiliation, harassment or discrimination.
Authenticity
Use genuine accounts and disclose relevant relationships or conflicts of interest.
Relevance
Keep contributions connected to the topic, business, transaction or issue being discussed.
Accountability
Take responsibility for your submissions and cooperate with reasonable verification requests.
Participation
Participation is open to eligible users who can lawfully use the Platform and comply with CFA policies.
Appropriate participation
Participation we may restrict
Respectful communication
CFA welcomes strong opinions and criticism when expressed responsibly. Personal attacks and intimidation are not part of constructive consumer dialogue.
Constructive disagreement
"I disagree with the company’s explanation because the invoice shows a different amount. I would appreciate a written clarification."
Focused on facts, explains the disagreement and invites resolution.
Overly aggressive language
"This company is useless and nobody should ever speak to them."
May be edited or restricted because it is broad, hostile and not sufficiently informative.
Threats or harassment
"I will expose your employees everywhere and make sure they are personally punished."
Threatening or targeted harassment may result in removal and account action.
Authenticity and accuracy
Community content should reflect genuine experiences, honest beliefs or information supported by a reasonable basis.
Good practice
Misleading conduct
Unverified allegation: Serious allegations involving fraud, crime, professional misconduct or public safety may be held for review, labelled, limited or removed when adequate supporting context is not available.
Privacy and safety
Only share information necessary to explain the issue. Public disclosure of personal or confidential information can create serious safety and privacy risks.
Personal identifiers
Do not publish identity numbers, passport details, full addresses, private phone numbers or private email addresses.
Financial information
Do not expose complete card details, bank account numbers, passwords, payment credentials or security codes.
Documents
Redact signatures, account numbers, barcodes, QR codes and unrelated third-party details before uploading.
Safety risks
Never post information intended to locate, intimidate or endanger another person.
Private evidence: CFA may allow documents to be submitted privately for verification. Private submission does not mean the document will be displayed publicly.
Not permitted
The following are strictly prohibited regardless of context. CFA will apply appropriate enforcement measures including content removal, account action and referral to authorities where required.

|---|---|---|
| Harassment | Threats, stalking, repeated intimidation, sexual harassment, targeted humiliation or encouraging others to attack a person. | Removal; warning, suspension or closure. |

Business participation
Business representatives are encouraged to clarify facts, provide solutions and explain next steps. Responses must not pressure, expose or retaliate against consumers.
Appropriate business responses
Prohibited business conduct
Commercial activity
CFA community areas are not unrestricted advertising channels. Promotional activity must be relevant, transparent and permitted by CFA.
Disclose promotion
Do not publish identity numbers, passport details, full addresses, private phone numbers or private email addresses.
No unsolicited spam
Do not repeatedly post links, offers, phone numbers or promotional messages.
No review trading
Buying, selling, exchanging or rewarding undisclosed reviews is prohibited.
No automation abuse
Automated posting, scraping or bulk messaging requires written permission.
Fraud and security
Users must not engage in phishing, credential theft, malicious links, payment diversion, fake support, account takeovers or other fraudulent activity.
Urgent security concern: Do not send money, passwords, one-time codes or identity documents to users claiming to represent CFA through unofficial channels. Report suspicious activity immediately through the Platform.
How moderation works
CFA may use automated systems, human review, user reports and verification checks to identify potential policy violations.
Content submitted
A post, comment, reply, review or upload enters the Platform.
Safety checks
Systems may screen for spam, abuse, privacy risks or manipulation.
Context review
Moderators may assess wording, evidence, history and surrounding discussion.
Action taken
Content may be published, labelled, limited, edited, held or removed.
Notice or appeal
Where appropriate, users receive reasons and a route to request reconsideration.
Enforcement
CFA aims to use proportionate enforcement, but urgent or severe risks may require immediate action.
| Possible action | When it may be used |
|---|---|
| Guidance or edit request | Minor, correctable issues such as tone, relevance, formatting or accidental disclosure. |
| Label or reduced visibility | Disputed, unverified, repetitive or context-sensitive content that may still have public value. |
| Temporary restriction | Repeated violations, disruption, suspicious activity or safety review. |
| Content removal | Clear policy violations, privacy exposure, threats, fraud, impersonation or unlawful content. |
| Account suspension or closure | Severe violations, repeated abuse, manipulation, evasion or risk to the community. |
Enforcement discretion: CFA may consider severity, intent, harm, repetition, account history, public interest, cooperation and legal obligations when deciding what action is appropriate.
Reporting concerns
Use the report option available next to the relevant content whenever possible. Reports should identify the specific issue and include supporting context.
